Ping is a computer network administration utility

Ping is a computer network administration utility used to test whether a particular host is reachable across an Internet Protocol (IP) network and to measure the round-trip time for packets sent from the local host to a destination computer, including the local host’s own interfaces. Wiki

How can we use this command:

Ping internal or external network

Check network: www.google.com or 127.0.0.1 (local machine)

Check some IP address constantly Ping -t www.repairpcathome.co.uk

Resolve IP Host Ping -a 66.102.9.147

Change TTL (time to live) Ping -i 10 www.repairpcathome.co.uk

Record route to count hops (bridges, routers, and gateways etc) through which data must pass to reach their destination.
Ping -r 9 www.repairpcathome.co.uk
